ABOUT HADLEY

~DOB: 3/2015

Gender: Female

Weight: 65lbs.

Energy Level: Low - Moderate

Overall Drive: Low - Moderate

Location: Tacoma, WA

Hadley is 65 pounds of pure heart.  There is nothing about this girl that is not to adore and is the most loving dog that her foster has ever been across. Everyone that meets her says the exact same thing, keep reading to find out why!

If Hadley was human she would either be a greeter at a store or the friendly old southern lunch lady at school that calls you “honey” or “sugar”.  She reminds us of a warm hug from your favorite grandparent during the holidays.  Hadley has not met anyone that she doesn’t love including family, friends, neighbors, store employees, the mailman, and even complete strangers during walks with her foster.  Not only does this girl have a giant heart but she is also smart as a whip.  During walks, she walks gently and heels very well on a lead.  Additionally, she will wait at corners, crosswalks, and doorways to allow you to lead the way.

One of her favorite pastimes is sitting in the house's front window watching the world go by on its daily routine.  Never barking or getting excited about what is going on outside, just enjoying her time watching the world turn.  The neighbor has been a testing ground for new experiences, they have an older dog that she met through the fence, and now every time she goes out in the yard she goes to the “meeting spot” but the neighbor dog is older and not very interested in having a girlfriend on the other side of the fence.  She has met the next-door child as well, who is 10 and she was very gentle and loving with the child.   Her favorite toy is a stuffed Rudolph Reindeer that her foster got for her upon arrival, she will bring it to you with a twinkle in her eye to say “look at this magical thing I’ve brought you”.

Hadley loves riding in the car and is the proud owner of a 5-star uber passenger rating.  She has been to the vet and was social and well-mannered. Loud noises do not bother her but she is rather curious about them.  There is mutual respect for the cat that lives next door,  but the cat has indifferent feelings about dogs according to the neighbors.  During her time in foster, she has mastered the following commands: Sit, Stand, Down, Wait, Heel, Leave it, Paw/Other paw. She is still working on  “Leave it” during walks. She is house and crate trained, the only incident she has had during her foster time was sneaking the top piece of bread off a sandwich once #CarbsMakeTheWorldGoRound.

Hadley would love a low key, predictable forever home that may have  another dog to play with and is moderately active in outdoor activities such as nature walks, hiking, exploring, etc.  We believe she would be good with children as well with proper supervision.  Due to her mellow nature and with some proper training, she would make a great dog to be a hospital/home visitor for the elderly or children.  If you are interested in a chill girl that just wants to be loved and give it in return then Hadley is your girl!
