Goose is such a character that passers-by have been known to say, “That is the happiest dog in the world”. It seems like every day is Goose’s favorite day and he is so excited to be with his person learning new things about the world and being by their side on whatever adventure they have planned. If you would like to know more, just keep reading.

If Goose had a human job, he would make a great motivational speaker since it seems that he always has a lot to say. Plus, he is always in the best of spirits and is constantly bringing smiles to people's faces. He is not overly protective but will guard his domain by barking and being loud if someone comes around, to alert his people. One of his favorite activities this summer has been chillin’ in his kiddie pool on a hot day. Not only does he just enjoy lounging in it, but he also will bob for his tennis ball and blow bubbles as well.

As for socialization, Goose is very confident and driven, not much scares him as curiosity usually wins him over. He has been around children, and it takes him some time to warm up to the little humans. #TheyAreSoTinyLikeShrunkenBigPeople During walks he is very social and will want to say hello to everyone and everything during his walk, he does have a little reactivity toward other dogs while on leash that his foster is working through. Goose is very vocal, and which makes people think “Oh my that is a scary dog”, really it is just him and his love of talking. His foster has tested him with cats and found he loves kittens since they are full of pure playful energy! He has not been tested with livestock.

Goose loves car rides and sticking his head out the window if you let him. #FeelTheBreezeInMahSnoot He is not a huge fan of being at the vets’ office and needs some sedation to perform some procedures, we feel this might be able to be worked through with positive reinforcement over time. Additionally, over the 4th of July, none of the loud noises seemed to bother him. He has mastered the Sit, Stay, Out (drop it), and Yes (release) commands during his foster stay. He is working diligently on the Heel, Go to bed (place), and keeping his butt parked on his cot as he needs some reminders since he just wants to hang out with you! Goose is completely house-trained with zero accidents, occasionally he will sniff the counter if he smells something good or swipes your slippers but just to take them not to be destructive.

Goose is looking for a forever home that has a backyard and a dog or two to be friends with. He will require someone that is active and wants to take him out on adventures with them providing plenty of options for both physical and mental stimulation. His foster thinks an ideal landing spot for Goose might be a farm where he can roam a couple of acres and have a little side job “patrolling”. He is very treat motivated, loves brain games, and might excel in barn hunt, scent work, herding, dock diving, etc. Goose is pretty much a blank slate at this point and is awaiting his forever home. So if you think that Goose would fit in your life please apply!
