ABOUT GOOSE

Age: 3 years

Weight: 70lbs

Energy Level: Low

Overall Drive: Low

Location: Castlerock, WA

NO: Cats, small animals, small kids

Goose is a show stopper; stunning, smart, confident, stable, independent, has piercing eyes and the best head tilts.

Goose is very curious and wants to really check out what his person is doing. He’s got a calm personality and is fairly laid back. He settles nicely in the house and has great house manners. He’s not very cuddly but he does like his ears scratched. He’s not a “Velcro” type of dog, he’s comfortable entertaining himself but he does like to be with his person. He’s not the protective type but he’s not the overly social with strangers kind of dog either.

Goose is very easy to take places. He’s a great hiking and running buddy, and he loves to go on walks. He ignores other people and dogs, even if the other dog is reactive, Goose doesn’t bat an eye. He is aloof with strangers/visitors, he’s steady, stable, safe, just not really interested in them. Goose is good with calm, polite dogs. High energy dogs that are pushy and in your face are not a good match for him. Goose knows sit, heel, down, has a nice recall, has had boundary training (doorways), loads nicely in the car/crate, and is used to being released for his food. He does great in the vets office, not phased by loud noises, he’s good in the car but he wants to chase cars that pass. He’s gotten much better but this will still need work and management. While crate and kennel trained, he is still somewhat of an escape artist, he can open the wire crates and he knows how to flip open gate latches. He is non-destructive, loves to play with balls/ chew on bones but can be mildly possessive over them.

Goose will require an experienced owner enjoys training and who’s willing to continue his training. The ideal home for Goose would be one where he is able to be with his person and included in the daily life and activities more often than not. He is not a dog that can be left out in a yard all day while you’re gone, he probably won’t be there when you get home. He seems to prefer men but has no issues with women. He would probably do really well in barnhunt. He has also participated in k9 fitness classes and enjoys it.
