ABOUT GHOST:

Age: 15 months

Gender: Male

Energy Level: Moderate

Overall Drive: Moderate

Location: Sherwood, OR

Ghost is a late bloomer who had a rough start in life – but he is making up for lost time! He is looking for the perfect, patient person to help him continue to learn structure as he develops past his puppy stage. If he were a human, Ghost would be a summer camp counselor: always up for any activity (especially if it involves water) but also a fan of cozy spots near the campfire!

Ghost is a sweet boy who is curious about his surroundings. He is well behaved in most public spaces with the proper equipment and guidance. Due to his size, tendency towards jumping on people when greeting them, and his prey drive, Ghost will need a home without children, cats, and other smaller animals. In his foster home, he acclimated to his canine housemates with slow, controlled introductions and monitored play (he can be a bit gregarious and rough) and now is learning to read signals from other dogs when they need space. Ghost may do best as the only dog in his household as he is still building on these skills and gaining confidence in obedience. He rides well in the car, has done well at the veterinarian’s office, and is mostly confident around loud noises. He has mastered some basic obedience and is working on more advanced commands and learning structure. Ghost is fully crate trained.

Ghost would do best in a home with a confident handler who can continue to provide the structure and boundaries that he has thrived under in his foster home. He would love a large, fenced yard where he could run and play, and would likely do best in a calmer environment as he tends to feed off of the energy of his surroundings. Ghost is still building up muscle mass due to his history, so will need to slowly work up to longer walks, hikes, or jogging. He loves the water and would do great in any activity where he could swim. Ghost is a hard worker and eager to learn – he can’t wait to be your shadow!
