Ghost is a late bloomer who had a rough start in life – but he is making up for lost time! He is looking for the perfect person to adventure with and help him continue to learn structure as he develops past his puppy stage. If he were a human, Ghost would be a summer camp counselor: always up for any activity (especially if it involves water) but also a fan of cozy spots near the campfire!

Ghost is a sweet boy who is curious about his surroundings. He is well behaved in most public spaces with the proper equipment and guidance. Ghost would do best in a home with kids over the age of 12 due to his high energy. He has shown excellent socialization with other dogs of all sizes and would love to have a sibling or be the only child! Ghost has a very high prey drive and needs to go to a cat free home and would not make the best farm dog unless animals were fenced in properly. He rides well in the car, has done well at the veterinarian’s office, and does not lack any confidence when it comes to new places and situations. He has mastered some basic obedience and is working on more advanced commands and learning structure. Ghost is fully crate trained.

Ghost would do best in a home with someone who will continue engagement training with him. Due to his past he seeks to self reward from his environment and has benefited a lot from working for his food to establish a relationship with his foster. He is the ideal active pet for the right family and would make a great addition to any home. He has also shown interest in pursuing detection work and could make a great truffle or shed hunting dog! Ghost is a hard worker and eager to learn – he can’t wait to be your shadow!

West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.

Must have previous or current, purebred Belgian Malinois experience OR other high drive working breed experience. Have no children under the age of 12 years old OR have extensive experience with children and high drive dogs.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
