Affectionate, sweet, and friendly is the best way to describe this jumping bean of puppy energy! Flora is your typical Malinois puppy who is pushy, mouthy and likes to test boundaries. She enjoys meeting new people of any age both in the home or when out and about.

Food, toys and verbal praise are all wonderful motivators for her, which has been helpful with her learning her basic commands. She is smart as a whip, eager to please, and is happiest when tasked with learning something new. She does have a slight fear of moving vehicles and prefers a walk in the park over visiting a highly populated area. Her family must be willing to help build her confidence through focus exercises and working alongside a professional trainer.

Flora has shown keen interest in cats and birds, so a home void of small animals is best. She is also an escape artist, so secure and sturdy containment is a must, such as an Impact crate. Flora settles well in her crate when in the car, for naps and will sleep soundly in it through the night. As with any puppy, a regular bathroom schedule is needed to avoid any accidents.

Her energy and drive make for one very determined pup! Flora will need a seasoned, active handler who is able and willing to set and maintain clear, firm boundaries. Given the chance, she will investigate the counters and use whatever her mouth fits on as a chew toy. Redirecting to an appropriate activity works on occasion, but she does require some intermittent crate time during the day to unwind.

Flora loves to be a part of the action, no matter what it is, and using her nose her mouth are her favorite activities so far. Pair that with her lightning fast moves, and she has the makings of a serious sport prospect! Her ideal home will be well versed in working dogs and have no children. Having dog or 2 to play with would be the icing on the cake!

West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $450.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
