Who is Archie, where did he come from, and who are his parents? At this point, we have very few answers to those questions, but we do know that this fella just wants to be your best friend! The only thing he loves more than his person is food! If Archie was a human, his foster says that he would be in the hospitality industry due to his pleasing nature and wanting to make sure everyone is happy. He has this goofy smile on his face 24/7, he is just vibin’ out here in the busy world but loving every second of it! #GoodVibesOnlyBrah His most lovable feature is his big ol’ puppy dog eyes, there is something in them that shoots out little heart-shaped laser beams of love. Archie is a giant cuddle bug and once he gets comfortable he gets along with everyone... however trying to establish personal space with him seems like a pointless effort because he just wants someone to love and be as close to them as possible. Can you say #velcrodog?

During his first few days in foster care, he was a little shy but came around quickie giving hugs, kisses, and cuddles. Sometimes when he wants something or just some scratches, he will come to place his head on your lap, implying “I would like something, some pats if you have them”. Archie doesn’t mind riding in the car, is well-mannered at the vet’s office, and loud noises do not seem to bother him. He does tend to get a little over-excited when the doorbell rings #WhoDoesntTheseDays. When meeting new people, he appreciates it if he can sniff them up one side and down the other before accepting them. During his introductions with other dogs, he seems to not enjoy the company of other dominant male dogs but doesn’t mind having female or smaller dogs around. His foster has never tested him around children so that is an unknown. We believe he might be ok around teenager-sized kids but might be a little rambunctious when meeting smaller humans.

The number one thing Archie loves is food, he is highly food motivated and will do pretty much anything for a little nibble of any edible deliciousness. That being said he does need boundary work due to his unstructured shelter life before coming to Woof so he can continue to make good choices and learn the house rules. If given a chance he will counter-surf (see the above statement about food), so he needs to be crated while left in the house alone, crate training is a work in progress. The only item he has “destructed” during his foster time was a pair of sandals, but it was soon after his shelter exit. He is currently working diligently on Sit, Stay, and Down commands.

Archie is a diamond in the rough that needs some polishing to shine up. He would be best in a home with active owners, another dog (female preferably), and a slow feeder bowl to slow down his eating #TheFoodIsntRunningAway. He is super loveable and affectionate with his people and would love to find his forever home. So if you think Archie is the diamond you have been looking for, please apply.
