Collins is just a puppy trying to find his way in the world. He’s a huge lover and is convinced his destiny is to be a lap dog – do you have a spare place on the couch for him?

Affectionate and curious but still unsure about the world, Collins lacks confidence and will need direction and affirmation from his handler. He can be fearful in new situations but will push through as long as he has a familiar friend by his side. Collins is looking for someone who can continue to reassure him that he is not alone, and the world isn’t always a frightening place. He can become overstimulated in busy situations but will bond with someone over time through play, praise, and affection. Collins will bark at unfamiliar visitors but warms up when given a proper introduction. He has not spent much time around other dogs but would likely need guidance interacting with them as well. Collins rides well in the car in crate, is comfortable with his body being manipulated by his current foster handler, is fully crate trained, and is not frightened by loud noises. Collins cannot share a home with cats or other small animals given his propensity to chase them. Since he is a puppy, he is still learning many skills and is working on his basic obedience. Collins will need a confident handler who is willing to set and reinforce boundaries as they grow together as a team.

Collins is still a puppy and has some things to learn, but he will make a great partner for someone looking for an athletic sidekick. He would do best in a home with a handler who has some experience with working breeds, but overall, he will thrive with someone who is willing to consistently engage with him. Collins would love to have the opportunity to participate in athletic activities like walks, jogs, or hikes with his forever person. Take a risk and add a twist to your life with Collins!

West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.

Must have previous or current, purebred Malinois experience OR other high drive working breed experience. Have no children under the age of 12 years old OR have extensive experience with children and high drive dogs.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
