Chava is a super friendly girl that just wants to be everyone's friend. Human, dog, bird at the park, you name it she wants to be its buddy! She is a very affectionate, curious, bouncy, and confident lady for being so young. Keep on reading if you want to know more!
This girl is go go go for the majority of her waking hours. Her foster states that if she was a human, she would probably be the captain of the U.S. Olympic team. Hands down she is one of the most athletic dogs in a small package we have ever seen. She is as close to bomb-proof as one could hope for with a rescue dog that is so young. She absolutely loves people, all of them regardless of size or age. Any visitors that come over to the foster’s house she acts like they are old friends. In addition, she loves other dogs and is quite open to playing with them but if she is too much a simple “no” command and she will settle nicely. The only thing we are unsure if she loves or not is cats and livestock as she has not been tested with them due to her foster’s location.
Chava loves car rides and is crated as she might have an appetite for destruction #AxlRoseStyle, which we don’t want to find out while driving down the freeway. She loves everyone at the vet’s office and could care less about getting shots or exams. Loud noises do not faze her at all, yet another thing she could care less about. While out for walks she will bark at other dogs sometimes while on her leash, but not aggressive or reactive, just wants to say hi. This is something that her foster is working on via redirection, which is going very well. One of the things that makes her foster laugh about Chava is that she does this head-shaking toy-killing thing when destroying toys that makes her just about dizzy enough to fall over or walk around as she went a little too hard at bottomless mimosa brunch. #BrunchIsForTheGirls
During Chava’s time in foster, she has mastered Sit, Wave, Come, Off, and Drop It. Some of the commands she is working on to the best ability are Leave It, Lay Down, and other fun tricks. With her ability to learn things so quickly she could probably achieve her AKC Trick Dog title quickly. Chava has been known to counter surf but will not destroy or eat whatever she finds on the counter, just plays with them #SillyGirl. The only destructive thing her foster has noted her as doing is chewing on leashes in the car, not too sure why but she does. On the slightly less annoying side, she has started to do the “Rooster” morning routine where she is up in her crate and barking to let everyone know it is time to get out of bed for the day. #IfImUpYoureUp
Chava would excel in any active home; they just have to be ready to exercise her mind and body daily for her to have her best life. She is not a lazy dog and loves visitors, we are unsure of children but with how much she loves other adult humans we can only imagine she would love kids as well. Her drive and bite grips, combined with her energy and athleticism make us believe that she could excel in any dog sport out there. If you think you have the home that Chava needs, please apply.
