Do you want to improve your throwing? Do you have an extra hour or two in your daily routine that can be better spent working on this? Buddy may be the dog for you! Buddy’s perfect human would be one that could play fetch with him every day– ideally all day, but he’ll settle for less.
If Buddy had opposable thumbs and needed to pay rent, he’d be a golf cart attendant. Although, he’d be fired quickly because he’d never give the balls back! Besides loving balls, Buddy also loves water and attention from humans of all sizes! He can be protective of his home and family, but once he verifies you aren’t a ball thief or party-crasher, he’ll be your new BFF! Buddy has not been around small animals or cats, but he has shown reactivity towards other male dogs (he’s a ladies' man) with the exception of his foster brother Simba who is also available for adoption. Currently, this sweet and loyal boy knows some of his basic obedience but is also working on some more intermediate skills like ‘place’ and ‘center’! Buddy has behaved well indoors and is crate-trained and accustomed to outdoor kennels. Given the opportunity, he would probably investigate the counters and trash “for ball thieves”. His worst habits are frequent barking and chewing dog beds, but he responds well to corrections and should get better with training and time.
Buddy’s ideal home would include multiple humans to throw balls for him as well as pet him. In return, Buddy will ward off ball thieves, put smiles on his humans' faces every day, and protect them. Besides playing fetch, he also approves of walks, parks, adventures, and kongs stuffed with peanut butter and treats!
Buddy eats 3 cups of Purina One Chicken and Rice twice a day.
