Brandi is the most loyal dog you could ever meet - and it’s impossible to say no to her big brown eyes! Protective and dedicated, if Brandi were a human, she would be a bodyguard – always ready to stand up and advocate for her person.

Brandi does well with strangers but ultimately only has eyes for her person. She requires slow, deliberate, and controlled introductions to other dogs and will usually be protective of her handler around them. Though she hasn’t been around cats or other small pets, Brandi would likely do best in a home without them or young children. She rides well in the car (but has been known to bark!), is a bit unsure of loud noises, and will need careful handling at the veterinarian’s office. Brandi is reactive to other dogs when on leash and will need an experienced handler who can safely continue to work with her on reducing this reactivity. She is working on mastering basic obedience and is fully crate trained.

Brandi would do best as the only dog in her forever home. She loves spending time outdoors and would prefer a partner who enjoys the same. Brandy can entertain herself but prefers to spend as much time with her person as possible and would like a home where she could spend as much time as she likes with her family. Smart and willing to work, she loves training and might excel in an activity like nosework where she could learn something new while not having to socialize or interact with other dogs. Brandy is a great girl looking for her perfect match – all she asks for in return is lots of outdoors time and a nightly game of fetch!

West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.

Must have previous or current, purebred German Shepherd experience OR other high drive working breed experience. Have no children under the age of 12 years old OR have extensive experience with children and high drive dogs.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
