Blitz has a ton of life, love, and energy to share! He enjoys being around people and receiving or giving affection. He will do anything for a good belly rub. He is neutral with other dogs and is very confident environmentally. His infectious smile and goofball personality will provide his new family ample opportunities for laughing right along with him!
Blitz has mastered his basic commands and working to become proficient in more advanced skills. He is working on staying quiet in the crate or kennel as he is easily stimulated into barking when confined. He is quiet and curious when out and about. Food and praise motivate him to work, however, he just started learning how to play with toys and engage with people during play. He walks well on a loose leash when wearing a prong collar and only requires minimal correction. Blitz travels nicely crated in the car and is well-mannered when at the vet’s office.
Blitz does well when meeting new people in and outside of the home and seems to really enjoy attention from females. He has been good around a 3-year-old but has not been off-leash around the child as he is learning not to jump up and not to run through people to get to where he wants to go. His foster has been working on conditioning him to a treadmill and he is making steady progress.
Blitz would do well in an active home that can provide him many opportunities to learn and ensure he gets plenty of physical and mental stimulation. He is a strong dog with moderate stamina who would be a great running or hiking partner. Due to his high prey drive, he can not share his home with cats or other small animals.
