 ABOUT BLAKE

Age: 8 years

Gender: Male

Weight: 90 lbs and losing!

Energy Level: Low

Overall Drive: Low

Location: Santa Clarita, California

Blake is a respectable and serious gentleman! He would be the type of friend you would chill in a man cave with, share a cocktail with, or just lounge around with!

Overall, Blake is a no-drama, calm guy, who just wants to be included in daily activities. On his own, he’ll just lie down and chill outside (even ignores his foster’s horses!) but he’d be more content lying near you. He’s also up for a game of two-ball fetch (one of the few times he may show his goofy side and dance!) or a walk whenever you’re ready. On walks, he pretty much ignores other dogs and people, but given the chance, may run up to strangers and lean against them. He knows his basic obedience and has no issues riding in a crate in the car. His favorite things are his squeaky ball and food, however, he has growled while holding his ball (hence, two-ball fetch) and does not want to be bothered when he is eating.

Simple verbal correction is all he needs, and he has mastered all basic commands, aside from heel, which he is working on. Blake is unphased by loud noises or commotion around him. He does not like having his feet touched and tolerates the vet but may do better muzzled or sedated.

Blake’s ideal home would be a quiet one with a single man. He is picky about his company and has shown very happy, loving behavior towards young men. They will need to respect him and understand his boundaries. He should not be placed in a home with children and is too mature for puppy antics. Give this stately gentleman a chance to be your companion!

West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.

Must have previous or current, purebred Malinois experience OR other high drive working breed experience. Have no children under the age of 12 years old OR have extensive experience with children and high drive dogs.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
