ABOUT BING

Age: ~18 months

Gender: Male

Weight: 53 lbs

Energy Level: High

Overall Drive: High

Location: Kent, WA

Bing is a happy and energetic goofball who loves to train and play with his ball! If he needed to work for the roof over his head, he would be a party planner because all he wants to do is have fun!

Bing is a confident boy who will dive headfirst into anything, especially if it involves balls! He is also sweet but can be over-affectionate and mouthy. He is easily over-stimulated which his new humans will need to continue working on as well. When it comes to meeting new people, he displays the breed’s typical cautious behavior but is fine after being properly introduced. He has made trips to the hardware store with his foster and does well as a “no pet” dog. With a compatible canine partner, he can play non-stop outdoors and will often chase or stalk his doggy siblings in his foster home. Bing is motivated by toys and food but also listens well without a reward. He responds well to light correction or a quick page from his e-collar to bring his attention back to his handler. He is house-trained and crate-trained, but his sensitive nose makes it hard for him to resist counter-tops and trash cans! He is not inherently destructive but may mistake items for toys (like the bin that holds his toys). When it comes to playing fetch, he will always chase after the ball, is extremely determined to find it if he loses it, but he hasn’t quite gotten the bringing it back part yet!

Bing’s ideal home would be with a very Malinois savvy and active handler. They would be interested or experienced in dog sports or be able to provide him with a job due to his high energy and drive level. His foster believes he can excel in anything if someone puts in the time and with his temperament, he may do well in detection or sport work. Due to his rambunctiousness and mouthiness, he is not suited for a home with small children but would be fine with older, respectful kids, as he adores the teenage daughter in his foster home.

West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.

Must have previous or current, purebred Malinois experience OR other high drive working breed experience. Have no children under the age of 12 years old OR have extensive experience with children and high drive dogs.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $500

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
