Aysu is an extremely sweet, affectionate, and happy-go-lucky dog.  She is very quick to bond with a person and is ready to go wherever her person wants to go!  This girl checks pretty much all the blocks that one could have when looking for a young Malinois.

If Aysu were a person and had to have one of our human jobs, she would be the female Bear Grylls.  She loves adventuring and seeing/figuring out new things with her person.  If you want to cuddle on the couch, take a ride in the car, go on a hike, you name it she wants to go!  Aysu is super friendly with people and other dogs but can be a little overzealous when meeting small humans and small dogs.  So, a home with little humans might not be the best for her at this stage in her life, but that could change as she matures and gets a few more manners under her belt.  #CameInLikeAWreckingBall

She loves riding in the car, it is one of her favorite things in the world, next to her human and food.  During her trips to the vet’s office, she is fine with the vet techs handling her and has never shown any aversion to the office.  Loud noises do not bother her, the only thing that gets to her on occasion are motorcycles.  When she is happy, she does a little happy dance hopping back and forth from left to right.  Her leash manners are improving, she walks well on a leash with a prong collar but can get excited sometimes around things she wants to go check out.

During her time in foster, she has mastered Sit, Down, Wait, and Paw.  Items still being worked on are Leave It, Heel, Watch, and Off.  She is crate trained and will sleep in her crate from 11 pm to 7 am without a peep.  Additionally, she is housebroken and will need to use the bathroom 2-3 hours after a meal but can hold it through the night. When her human is away, she is crated and has never been able to roam freely due to the concern of trashcan raiding.   Aysu has not been tested with children or livestock during her time in foster care, but she has seen cats and squirrels during walks and seemed interested in them but did not fixate on them.

Aysu is looking for her forever home that is with someone active (hiker, runner, etc.) that will be committed to her training and engagement, someone who can set firm boundaries for her.  Her foster states that she does a 4-mile hike in the morning and runs in their fenced yard for 30 minutes in the afternoon to burn energy, with short walks around the neighborhood in between.  Her forever home needs to understand that this girl has energy to burn!  She would possibly enjoy having another dog to hang out with as well.  If you think your lifestyle is fitting for Aysu, please apply.
